The Ames Police Department will be increasing traffic enforcement during the week of July 4th as part of the ongoing “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign. Officers will also be looking for people not wearing their seat belts.
The Ames Police Department suggests if you decide to drink alcohol, find a sober driver or walk to your destination. A sober driver is someone who does not consume any alcohol. The Ames Police Department is encouraging everyone to have a fun and safe holiday.
The Ames Police Department conducts traffic enforcement projects using grant money provided by Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
