Intermodal Facility Offers Free Parking June, July; Permit Sales Begin April 25

AMES, Iowa – With construction nearing completion on the federally funded Ames Intermodal Facility, CyRide and the City of Ames are unveiling parking options and beginning permit sales. The facility is scheduled to open around June 1 and will feature free parking to the public for June and July. Beginning in August, parking permits will be required for reserved spaces, and the daily meter rates of 75 cents per hour will be implemented.

Advanced permit sales will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25 through Iowa State University’s Parking Division, which will operate the facility on behalf of CyRide and the City of Ames. Permits may be purchased online through the following link: http://aif.parking.iastate.edu/. For questions, contact Iowa State University’s Parking Division at (515) 294-3388.
Parking rates at the facility will be as follows:
Annual Permit (August-July)
Uncovered Spaces ......... $180
Covered Spaces ............. $480
Monthly Permit

Meters.....................................$.75/hr.
Daily Maximum..........................$10
Carpool/Vanpool Parking .......Free
(Limit of 20 spaces to qualified carpool/vanpools)

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the facility is planned for early June. Details of this event will be made public closer to opening of the facility.
