AMES, Iowa – MPS Engineers and the City of Ames Public Works Department have scheduled water main construction along Lincoln Way to begin on Thursday, July, 5. This work is expected to take five to six weeks and will require lane closures along Lincoln Way between Riverside Drive and Hazel Avenue. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained throughout the project.

The work will include transferring water services from old water mains to newer water mains along Lincoln Way. Residents and drivers should expect to encounter construction vehicles and equipment throughout the area during the course of this project. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.

If the weather or unforeseen conditions don’t permit this work to be done on Thursday, July 5, it will take place on the next day of favorable conditions.
