Funding for the grants is provided by the Story County Community Foundation, and SCYP is facilitated through a partnership between SCCF and the Volunteer Center of Story County. The SCYP board is made up of 16 Ames High and Gilbert High School students who conduct a community needs assessment, create funding priorities, develop an RFP, and review and select grants for funding.

The public is invited to an award ceremony to announce the grant winners on Wednesday, February 29 at 4:30pm at the Ames Public Library Farwell T. Brown Auditorium.
