The Story County Conservation Partners will hold its annual photo contest this spring. All amateur photographers are encouraged to submit photos of nature and recreational activities by March 30.

The following categories will be judged: A: Nature in Story County Conservation parks and areas (may include structures); B: Specimen shot of native plant or animal (photographs of specific plants or animals – micro or macro); or C: Connecting people and recreation (People enjoying Story County Conservation areas). Please note photographs in categories "A" and "C" must be taken in a Story County Conservation areas. Special awards include "Best of Show" and "Partners Magnet.”
Each photographer may submit up to three entries. Youth photography entries (18 years old or younger) will be judged separately. Photos from all seasons will be accepted. Images from the contest are used to enhance Story County Conservation's photo library and encourage people to visit Story County Conservation's parks year-round.
Photos may be submitted March 16-30, at the Story County Conservation Center, 56461 180th St., Ames, IA 50010. Winners will be notified by April 13; prizes will be awarded at the Partners Spring Festival on May 6. Photographs will be on display at the center from April 27 through June 27.
