Ash Avenue and Lincoln Swing Closed Monday

Portions of Ash Avenue and Lincoln Swing will be closed to traffic starting Monday for road construction.

Ash Avenue will be closed from Knapp Street to about 500 feet south of the intersection with Country Club Boulevard. And Lincoln Swing will be closed from South Dakota Avenue to Beedle Drive.

Crews will work on the route from Knapp Avenue to Mortensen Parkway over a period of several months and Ash Avenue to Mortensen Parkway will be closed in future phases but for shorter durations. 

Ash Avenue construction includes new storm sewer installation, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, and removal and replacement of the existing street. Vehicles will not be allowed access to area.

The City of Ames asks that children and pets are kept away from the construction areas for safety reasons.

If the weather or unforeseen conditions prevent this work from starting on Monday, May 7, it will begin on the next day of favorable conditions.
