Call for Comment: Fireworks in Ames 2012

Some celebrations of Independence Day came a day early here in Ames.

A shoot technician couldn't be found so the Ames Jaycees put on its show Tuesday July 3 in stead of July 4. The festival, pancake breakfast and parade still took place July 4.

For most of us that meant working a full day Tuesday and then going out to the show, rather than having the day off and staying out late on the 4^th and going back to work the next day.
