Challenger Vilsack Leads Congressman King in Fundraising Race for 4th Congressional District

Democrat Christie Vilsack has brought in more campaign contributions than Republican Rep. Steve King in her bid for the 4th District.

Ames Democrat Christie Vilsack's latest filing report through May 16 shows she's managed to stay on top of the race for Iowa's new 4th District when it comes to fundraising.

Vilsack raised $231,000 from April 1 to May 16 for a grand total near $1.8 million since she started her campaign and has about $889,000 in cash on hand, according to the most recent FEC filings.

Steve King, R-Kiron, has raised a total of $1.7 million and has just a little more than $1 million in cash on hand. He raised $373,000 from April 1 to May 16 for a total of $1.7 million.
