NEWTON ---Â An evening of rock & roll and racing under the stars comes to Iowa Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. For only $10 (2-for-1 family/student/military discounts available online), people can enjoy some of Iowa's top entertainment live on the Grinnell Mutual Concert Stage while you witness the top $500 race cars from all across North America compete for ChumpCar World Series' National Chumpionship!
The ChumpCar World Series® is a North American road racing Enduro Series (endurance races), with events ranging from 14- to 25-hours in length for production sportscar, touring and sedan vehicles. All cars in the race must be valued at less than $500, with another $1,500-$2,000 for safety equipment and modifications.  The series stresses a casual weekend of racing, with a focus on returning racing to the era of the 1950s and 1960s, when camaraderie, sportsmanship and racing for pure enjoyment was far more important than cut-throat competition and the usual high cost of motorsports today.Â
