The Government Restructuring Committee, appointed by the Story County Board of Supervisors in May 2011, was given the charge to "explore the structure and function of Story County government as allowed by Iowa Code 331."Â The timeline established by the Board of Supervisors set a June 2012 deadline for the Commission's recommendations to be formulated and sent forward.
The Government Restructuring Committee has been hosting public sessions to provide an opportunity for the community to provide input and comments related to the charge given by the Board of Supervisors. The Committee is considering the following points and questions:
- Are changes needed in Story County government and in all Iowa county structure?Â
- In what areas is change needed in Story County?Â
- Is that change needed statewide or is it local to Story County's government structure? How can these changes be accomplished?
Please plan to attend the remaining meeting which will be held as follows from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.:
