The first O.W.L.S of the season "Ecology of the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake in Iowa" will be presented on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park, 56461 180th St. northeast of Ames.
Story County Conservation invites the public to attend and learn more about the Eastern Massasauga rattlesnake population, which has undergone a serious decline across their range and is currently listed as endangered in Iowa. Â
An optional luncheon follows the program at noon. Lunch is $7 Registration is required for lunch by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
