Sheriff Paul H. Fitzgerald of the Story County Sheriff’s Office, a participating agency of the Story County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (SCCADV), is proud to announce the coalition will host the Race For Safety – a Domestic Violence Awareness Month 5k Run to be held Oct. 13 at Moore Memorial Park 3050 Northridge Parkway in Ames. The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. with check-in beginning at 6 p.m.
The “Race for Safety” celebrates the community’s ability to support and protect victims of domestic violence. The Story County Coalition Against Domestic Violence encourages community members and families to participate in this “Race for Safety” and get involved in helping victims of crime.

The registration fee for the 5k Run is $20 per registrant and $15 per youth runner.
Registration for the 5k Run includes one t-shirt and a gift bag with information and items from various community victim service professionals. Runners registered after Oct. 4 may not be able to guarantee their t-shirt size availability, so register today!
