Story County Conservation invites the public to its monthly series of programs for O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors) 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park (56461 180th Street) northeast of Ames. "Lessons from a Watershed" will be presented. Please note that this is a change from the typical Tuesday date.
Jim Pease presents an interpretation and outreach plan for the Cedar River Watershed as part of E Resources Group. He’ll explore the aspects of the plan he thinks might be applicable to the Skunk River Watershed and the need for such planning for Story and surrounding counties.Â
O.W.L.S. programs are designed for "boomers" or older – but anyone can attend. An optional luncheon follows the program at 12 noon. Lunch is catered for a $7.00 fee, and registration is required for lunch by 4:30 p.m., Friday, October 28. The planned lunch menu for November is turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, and apple pie. You do not need to pre-register if you wish to attend only the presentation.
