Former ISU Foundation Head Received $400,000-Plus to Leave

Former President of the , Dan Saftig, who abruptly in March, received $400,000 in severance pay.
Lisa Eslinger, the Foundation's senior vice president of finance and operations, told the Ames Tribune that Saftig received 18 months in severance pay but wouldn't give an exact dollar amount.
Saftig led the foundation for nine years, generating more than $1 billion in gifts and commitments. The Foundation Board appointed Dr. Labh Hira, retiring Dean of the College of Business at Iowa State, as the Foundation’s president in the interim.
