Headed Near Ames High School? This Road Closing Might Affect You

Road construction expected to begin today might affect you.

Road construction on Ridgewood Avenue will affect people heading to  starting today.

The first phase of construction will close Ridgewood Avenue at the intersection of 13th Street and extend north through Crescent Avenue.

Con-Struct Inc. and the City of Ames said the work will include removal and replacement of the curb, gutter, and paving, sanitary sewer repairs, storm sewer intake upgrades, driveway reconstruction and pedestrian ramp upgrades. These activities are expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to complete, and there will be no vehicles allowed into the construction area.

People driving to Ames High School should follow the detour to Northwestern Avenue and 16thStreet.
