Here's Some Important Dates For Kids Who Go Back to School Thursday in Ames

Students of first day of school is in less than 24 hours so grab that last batch of . Here are some other important dates you might need to know.

First Day of School – Grades one through 12, Thursday: Kindergarten glimpses as scheduled.

Northwood Parent Orientation, Thursday: at , 3012 Duff Ave, as scheduled.

Kindergarten Classes begin, Monday.

High School Back to School Night 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. , 1921 Ames High Dr. Parents follow their student(s)’ schedule beginning with first period. Please note, an information meeting for the Extended Learning Program and the Alternative Learning Program precedes Back to School Night at 5:45 p.m.

Kindergarten through fifth grade mini-conferences, 2 to 4 p.m., Aug. 27-31. Elementary schools dismiss at 1:45 p.m. each day to allow brief conferences for parents with teachers.

Sixth Grade Back to School Night, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30, , 3915 Mortensen Rd. Meetings at 5:30 for Extended Learning Program, and 6 p.m. for band and orchestra.
