King Announces 8 Debates to Vilsack's Surprise

Congressman Steve King who represents Iowa's 5th District announced a series of debates with Christie Vilsack, without full details.

U.S. Congressman Steve King, R-Kirion, announced that he plans to debate Ames Democrat Christie Vilsack at least eight times after the June primary elections for the new 4th District. The only problem is the details haven't been ironed out.

King announced the dates and locations of eight debates including one here in Ames at Iowa State University on Saturday Sept. 22. The dates and locations follow below, but some information is missing. Vilsack's spokesman Sam Roecker told the Des Moines Register that some of the media outlets, for example, haven't agreed to moderate the debates so the announcement took them off guard. The Ames Tribune has agreed to its debate which it publicized this week.
