Kiplinger Magazine Ranks ISU, University of Iowa in Top 100 Best Values in Public Colleges for 2013 Rankings

The finance magazine has ranked Iowa State University as the 85th best value for an instate education.


The University of Iowa has been again named a top value for a public institute of higher education by Kiplinger Personal Finance Magazine in its 2013 rankings of 100 public institutions across the country.

Iowa was ranked No. 49 in the country for instate students based on a variety of criteria including cost per year, average graduation rate, admission rate and average debt after graduation. Iowa ranked No. 72 for value for out-of-state tuition. Iowa State University ranked No. 85 in the country for instate students and No. 86 for out-of-state students.

Although Iowa fell from its ranking last year of #47 for instate schools, it was still the highest ranked among the three Regents Universities. University of Northern Iowa came in at No. 95 for instate students respectively, with lower out-of-state values as well.
