Knapp Fire's Cause Released
Ames Fire Department officials said a fire that displaced residents of a Knapp Avenue apartment building was electrical in nature.

Officials with the have determined the cause of a June 8 fire in an apartment home on.
The fire at 2327 Knapp Ave., appeared to be electrical in nature, a release from the Ames Fire Department said. The fire is believed to have started between the second floor ceiling and the third floor sub flooring.
The three-story home built in 1915 had been converted into a multifamily apartment building.

The home received more than , but everyone who lived in the building was able to escape safely. The building's property manager planned to work with the tenants to find them new homes. Â
