Mitchell Celebrates Garden with Pizza and Meets New Principal
Mitchell Garden Club students will make pizzas using ingredients from the garden, serve them up and meet the new principal at 7 p.m.

Kate Mitchell Garden Club students plan to prepare pizzas using ingredients sold from their own garden and then eat with their families before meeting 's new principal, Justin Jeffs, Tuesday evening.
The club will create the pizzas starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and eat with their families. Jeffs' meet and greet begins at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the meet and greet with the school's new principal and tour the garden as well.
About 15 students worked in the garden throughout the summer and grew the pizzas' ingredients including: basil, fresh tomatoes, onions and peppers.

Jeffs was a former principal at Woodview Elementary School in Houston. Before taking that role he was a third- and fourth-grade teacher, an intervention specialist and an instructional coach. Jeffs planned to take on his new role at Kate Mitchell school July 20.
