Two women driving through Ames were charged with operating while intoxicated this week, according to information provided by the Ames Police Department. People found guilty of this charge lose their license for 6 months the first time and for a year on the second offense. Convictions usually come with a jail sentence of at least two days.

Teresa Matibag, 23, Ontario Street, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and operating while intoxicated, first offense at 3:20 a.m.
