• Ames High senior helps tackle food insecurity with meal kits (kcci.com) — Ames families relying on the school district’s HOPE Pantry now have simple, shelf-stable meal kits thanks to a project led by Ames High senior Katelyn Okerlund. Working out of the Ames Center, she and volunteers assemble taco bowls, soups and even birthday cake kits for any district family in need. Residents can get help or volunteer by contacting the district’s Family Resource Support Advocate.
