Road Closing Affects Ames High School Route

Road construction on Ridgewood Avenue will affect people heading to starting Tuesday.

The first phase of construction will close Ridgewood Avenue at the intersection of 13th Street and extend north through Crescent Avenue.

Con-Struct Inc. and the City of Ames said the work will include removal and replacement of the curb, gutter, and paving, sanitary sewer repairs, storm sewer intake upgrades, driveway reconstruction and pedestrian ramp upgrades. These activities are expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to complete, and there will be no vehicles allowed into the construction area.

People driving to Ames High School should follow the detour to Northwestern Avenue and 16^th Street.
