
A Georgia-based software company intends to launch this fall, bringing 20 new jobs to Ames.
Rural Soluxions LLC expects to open an office in October, and may add more jobs in the future, according to a report in the Ames Tribune.
“The addition of these jobs is well suited for both experienced IT workers and graduates of Iowa State University who want to remain in Ames to start their careers,” said Ron Hallenbeck, Ames Economic Development Commission vice president for existing business and industry.

The Ames Chamber of Commerce said in an announcement that the office will support clients of Rural Soluxions' parent company, Xpanxion.
Xpanxion is a software services development company which has been in business for 13 years with headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia; it also has offices in Kearney and Loup City, NE, and Pune, India, according to the chamber news release.

Xpanxion offers software application development, business analysis and strategy, project management, user interface design, database modeling, software architecture, quality assurance and start-up solutions, among other services, according to its website.
According to documents from an Ames City Council meeting this month, the company expect to ramp up over the next two to three years. The starting wage will be $16.50 per hour, plus benefits, according to the city documents.
The project will require no infrastructure investment by the city, and expanded operations will be located in leased office space, the documents stated.
