(Update) Police: Ames Theater Seeks Extra Security After Colorado Theater Shootings During Batman Dark Knight
Showings of "The Dark Knight Rises" will continue as scheduled in Ames but with added security after the Colorado Theater Shootings. Ames Police have been asked to provide extra security.

A tragic shooting at a Colorado movie theater during the opening night of Batman "The Dark Knight Rises" will not affect business at the theater.
Staff at the Ames theater said showings of "The Dark Knight Rises" will continue and refered all questions to Cinemark's corporate headquarters. However, Ames Police Department has been asked to provide extra security at the theater, said Police CMDR. Jim Robinson.
The theater made the request Friday afternoon and hoped to have an officer present for an unspecified period of time at Cinemark Movies 12 and the North Grand Cinemark 5. (The "Dark Knight" is only playing at Cinemark Movies 12, see a weekend schedule below.)

A man entered a Century 16 Theater in Aurora, Colorado last night and opened fire in the theater during a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 12 people and wounding several others, according to reports on the Huffington Post.
Aurora's Century 16 is owned by Cinemark Theatres, the same movie theater chain that operates the Cinemark Movies 12 in Ames.

"Cinemark is deeply saddened about this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and loved ones, our employees, and the Aurora community. We are grateful for the quick and professional reaction of all local law enforcement and emergency responders. Cinemark is working closely with the Aurora Police Department and local law enforcement."
