Tuesday's Primary Election Results From Ames

Less than 2 percent of registered voters cast a ballot in primary elections Tuesday.

There were no contested races for Ames Democrats or Ames Republicans in Tuesday's primary elections, which probably contributed to the low voter turnout of less than 2 percent.

As expected here's who will face off in November:

Ames Democrat Christie Vilsack and Steve King of Kiron, have already been campaigning against each other in their race for Iowa's new U.S. Congressional District 4. King has represented western Iowa as the congressman for the 5th District for the past decade, but Vilsack is determined to knock him out in Iowa's new 4th district and make history by becoming the first woman to represent Iowa in U.S. Congress.
