Two Ames Residents Are Delegates to National Convention

The Republican Party of Iowa announced Monday that two Ames residents would attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The Republican Party of Iowa announced Monday that two Ames residents would attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Dusty Juhl, Story County Republicans publicity chair, was elected as a delegate Saturday and A.J. Spiker, chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa and Republican National Committee Member will also attend.

Spiker is one of Iowa’s three automatic delegates: 
Iowa’s Republican National Committeewoman Kim Lehman, and 
Iowa’s Republican National Committeeman Steve Scheffler are the two others.

“I would like to congratulate all the delegates and alternate delegates on being chosen by fellow Iowa Republicans to represent the great State of Iowa at the National Convention in Tampa,” Spiker said in a prepared statement. “I look forward to the convention in Tampa and bringing our party together so that we make President Obama a one-term president.”
