The fun in Ames continues this weekend with the Iowa Games and the will also celebrate its annual department conference with a musical performance and a parade Saturday.

Municipal Band Concert at is free and lasts from 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Pre-concert entertainment starts at 7 p.m. Bring your blanket or a lawn chair.
Iowa Veterans Band
Iowa Veterans Band performs from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Bandshell Park as part of the Legion Post's Annual Department Convention. A parade takes place 6 p.m. Saturday right in front of the Legion Post at 225 Main Street.
Ames on the Halfshell
Saucy Jack performs 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bandshell for Ames Jaycees' Ames on the Halfshell. Admission is $4 and beverages are $1 to $3. Go to http://www.amesonthehalfshell.com/ for more.
Bookends on the Bandshell
Doug Rees plays a free show Friday at Durham Bandshell in Bandshell Park. The concert begins at 11:30 a.m. Friday. There is no Bookend concert on Sunday.
Dance Social
Iowa State University Ballroom Dance Club hosts free ballroom dancing minus the stars from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. Friday on the ISU Campus in the Gallery Room of the Memorial Union.
Gallery Walk
hosts its Gallery Walk from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at 295 Scheman Building. The guided tour is free.
Midnight Madness
Ryan Sheeler and the Box Brothers Band will perform in the parking lot at 405 5th Street from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday. The concert is part of Midnight Madness, Ames' annual road race also part of Iowa Games. The 5k begins at 7:30 p.m. and the 10k starts at 8:30 p.m. just in front of the .
HOT Tour
The Historic Old Town Neighborhood Association will hold its annual Old Town Home and Garden Tour on Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The tour includes a unique collection of homes demonstrative of the areas architecture from 1870 to the 1920s. Tickets are available for $10 at or on the day of the tour at Unity Church of Ames at 226 Ninth St.
