Warm up with Tune into Main Street from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at , with a performance by the Drama Kings, then walk down to the Bandshell for the Ames Municipal Band Concert featuring local Opera Star Simon Estes.

Ames Municipal Band Concert

Simon Estes the world renowned opera star will be featured in this week's free Municipal Band Concert at Durham Bandshell at . It's also City Council night. The show is free and lasts from 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday Pre-concert entertainment starts at 7 p.m. and features James Bovinette on trumpet. Bring your blanket or a lawn chair.

Ames on the Halfshell

Bookends on the Bandshell

Free concerts provided by and the commence with The Gatehouse Saints from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Bandshell Park. Bella Soul plays a free show Sunday at Durham Bandshell in Bandshell Park. The concert is from 6 to 8 p.m.

Suessical Jr.

Story Theater Company presents Suessical Jr. starting with a show at 7 p.m. Friday in the . Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door for adults. All students and children can watch for $6. Performances also take place at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Urinetown

will put on Urinetown “a hilarious tale of greed, corruption and love” for the last time starting Friday. Shows are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and finally 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20. Purchase them at or at the door before the show.

 USAF Heartland of America Band will also perform in the bandshell this weekend. The free performance is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
