Which Titles Are On Ames Library Battle of the Books Lists?

The  has released its book lists for 5^th and 6^th grade Battle of the Books clubs. The Battle of the Books trivia contests don't begin until next spring but contestants can start reading the books now.

In fact the contest was created to combat what's known as the summer slide or loss in reading level.

“When students read books over the summer, they lose far less ground in terms of reading level,” said Jerri Heid, Ames Public Library Youth Services Specialist, in a release from the library.

Fifth grade teams begin battling March 7 and 6^thgrade teams begin their competition April 4. Students interesting in participating in the 2013 Battle of the Books should start forming teams and reading now.

The lists follow below and you might not even have to go to the library if you a computer or the  on your phone. Books with both the e-audio and e-book designation can be downloaded from the library's website and e-books are available on the pocket library app.
