Ankeny Kids Learn How to Fight Off Strangers

Ankeny kids learn how to fight off threatening strangers.

An Ankeny martial arts instructor is teaching children how to defend themselves in a dangerous situation in light of recent kidnappings like the abduction of Kathlynn Shepard, according to a report from WOI.

Jeff Wilber, master instructor at Dojo's Family Martial Arts center, said the class is part of the “Kids Safe Program.”

Wilber tells children to first say “Let me ask my parents,” when first approached by a stranger and if they are grabbed or touched to hit, kick, bite, scratch and make as much noise as possible, the article states.
