Ankeny's Annual Hershey's Track Meet Set for May 3
More than 200 area athletes expected to participate.

From a City of Ankeny press release:
Ankeny High School's Track at 1155 SW Cherry Street will be the site of a local Hershey's National Track & Field Youth track meet May 3.
The event is hosted by the Ankeny Parks & Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Hershey's National Track & Field Youth Program. This event is open to boys and girls who will be ages 9 to 14 as of Dec. 31, 2013.

An annual event in Ankeny, the competition attracts more than 200 area athletes.
Running events include the 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600. Participants can choose between two field events, standing long jump and softball throw. Athletes are divided into three age groups; 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 with boys and girls competing separately. Winners from the Ankeny meet have the opportunity to move on to the state meet in Marshalltown on June 15.

Athletes should be on site by 5:30 p.m. for announcements and events will start at 5:45 p.m. This event is free and open to area youth from Ankeny and surrounding communities. For more information go to: www.ankenyiowa.gov.
