UPDATED: Ankeny School Board Moves Forward with Elementary Project, Signs New Teachers and Coaches

The Ankeny School board moved ahead on the district's 10^th elementary school and accepted a number of new coaches and teachers at a special meeting 5 p.m. Monday.

The board approved the sale of $15.9 million in general obligation bonds for the construction of a 10^thelementary school building and the sale of $18 million in general obligation bonds for the advanced refunding of other bonds.

Voters approved the $15.9 million general obligation bond for the school's construction in February.

The board also approved new coaching and teaching positions as well as the resignations of other employees.

New coaching positions include: Kati Ploegger, Assistant Fall Cheer Sponsor, Centennial High; Andrew Kruzich, Head Girls Track, Centennial High; Eric Klingensmith, Assistant Boys Track, Centennial High and Tim Long, 8th Assistant Girls Cross Country, Northview.

And new coaching and teaching assignments include:

Jon Lindaman, .6 FTE, Art, Northwest

Britne Rupiper, Assistant Fall Cheer Sponsor, Ankeny High

Dru McAnelly, 8th Head Girls Basketball, Southview

Luke Vander Sanden, Assistant Varsity Football, Ankeny High

Maria Mattiace-Hauser, 9th Head Girls Volleyball, Jaguars

Ashley Bailey, Head Fall Cheer Coach, Ankeny High

Ashley Bailey, Head Winter Cheer Coach, Ankeny High

Michaela Roush, 9th Assistant Volleyball, Jaguars

Kelsey Bolte, Head Girls Basketball, Ankeny High

Matt Overton, 9^th grade head Girls Volleyball coach will not return next fall.
