Ankeny City Council on Monday, unanimously approved a development agreement with Woodman Electrical Contractors, Inc. and awarded the first phase of a district public parking lot near SW Vintage Parkway.
Woodman Electrical Contractors said they spent $75,000 to remodel an office and shop space at 813 SW Ordnance Road and asked for support from the city in the form of a partial tax rebate on the increased value of the renovated property. The request was made through the Renew Ankeny Incentive Policy.
The council also awarded the public parking lot project to low bidder Absolute Concrete Inc. The Slater company offered a bid of $495,859.30. Con-Struct Inc. had offered a bid of $686,340.80.
The project was estimated to cost about $594,000.Â
