Development Agreement and Parking Lot Hearings Monday

The Ankeny City Council will preside over two public hearings during its meeting 5:30 p.m. Monday.


Ankeny City Council will hold two public hearings Monday; one on the development agreement for Woodman Electrical Contractors, Inc. and another on the first phase of a district public parking lot near SW Vintage Parkway.

Woodman Electrical Contractors would receive tax rebates in the development agreement through the Renew Ankeny Incentive Policy, according to documents online.

Woodman Electrical Contractors said they spent $75,000 to remodel an office and shop space at 813 SW Ordnance Road and is asking for support from the city in the form of a partial tax rebate on the increased value of the renovated property.

Bids for the public parking lot will be considered during the regular city council meeting. The hearing on the parking lot project begins at 5:30 p.m.

Absolute Concrete Inc. offered a bid of  $495,859.30 and Con-Struct Inc. offered a bid of $686,340.80.

The project was estimated to cost about $594,000. City staff are expected to recommend awarding the bid to Absolute Concrete.

Ankeny City Hall is at 410 West 1st St.
