Emma St. Clair, 12, of Ankeny is one of 2,300 in the nation and 33 youth in the state of Iowa who will be recognized by Kohl's Department Stores Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program.
Iowans recognized for their volunteerism will receive a $50 gift card and a certificate.
St. Clair will also qualify for a chance to win a $1,000 regional scholarship that Kohl's will award in July.

St. Clair organized a fundraiser “Emma's Walk for Cancer” for the American Cancer Society in March of 2012. St. Clair's Sunday school teacher died from the disease and her grandfather had malignant melanoma.
