• Ankeny plans new trail at High Trestle Trail park (axios.com) — Ankeny is adding a new 900-foot “flowline” trail to its High Trestle Trail Experience Park, designed to be accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and young riders. Funded by grants and city tax dollars, this phase also brings pocket play areas, benches, and an LED-lit underpass at South Ankeny Boulevard, with the new trail expected to open by late summer 2026.
   

• Iowa licensing board takes action in two massage-therapy cases (desmoinesregister.com subscription) — State regulators have sanctioned an Ankeny massage business owner after finding she allowed unlicensed workers to perform massages at Bandung Massage in town. Her license status is somewhat unclear, as documents describe both a voluntary surrender and a lesser penalty of a warning plus a $2,000 fine, while a separate Waterloo case involves a therapist temporarily suspended during an investigation.
