Southeast Elementary students in Ankeny made fleece blankets and cards for On With Life clients recently.

Students made the gifts as part of a student service learning project. They were able to choose a topic they wanted to learn more about, research it and then complete a project.

Students chose the brain and brain injury. An On With Life therapy manager, Dave Anders visited the classroom to teach them about the brain and helmet safety. Students then made the blankets and cards for the nursing department.

One of the clients Lavonne, chose a Cyclones blanket from the bunch.
