A portion of South East Trilein Drive will be closed Monday through late July for sewer improvements, according to a release from the City of Ankeny.
The closure will take place between South East Third Street and South East Lawrence Drive and also between South East Uehlamar and South East Peterson Drive.
A marked detour will direct traffic to SE Sharon Street west of SE Trilein Drive and SE Wanda Drive east of Trilein Drive.
The sewer construction will eventually extend the road closure west on South East Peterson Drive.
The traffic headache is for the south east area sewer improvements project now in phase 2. Crews are working to provide additional sanitary sewer and storm sewer capacity for the southeastern area of town. Once complete, the additional storm sewer capacity should alleviate flooding in the streets.
