Uptown Ankeny Farmer's Market Winding Down; Two Remain
Uptown Ankeny's Saturday morning farmer's markets end this month so get ready to gather the last late-summer and early-fall produce.

ANKENY, IA. -- The beginning of the fall means the end of some favorite summer events, but there are still two Uptown Ankeny Farmer's Markets on the schedule, meaning you still have a chance to grab late summer and early fall produce -- and homemade baked goods.
The markets are held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Ankeny Market & Pavilion Park, 715 W. First St. The Uptown Ankeny event expanded this season with new pavilion space and grew from about three dozen steady vendors last year.
Although participating vendors vary from week to week, the market typically features seasonal produce, baked goods, plants, hand-crafted items and specialty foods.
