City Of Iowa City: Arrest Made In Fairchild Street Shooting
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

As a result of the investigation into the Dec. 21, 2021, shooting at 402 Fairchild St., Carter L. Wolf, 24, of Iowa City, has been arrested and faces the following charge:

Iowa City Police responded to 402 Fairchild St. at approximately 9:46 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, for multiple reports of shots fired.
Responding officers entered the residence and encountered the suspected shooter in the second floor of the home. A firearm was recovered. Police also encountered an individual suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That person has been hospitalized and is being treated for his injuries.
The suspect is in custody and charges are pending. Police do not believe there is an active public safety threat associated with this incident.
