City Of Iowa City: Arrests Made In December 21 Armed Robbery
The victim reported using a drive-through lane at the credit union when they were approached by a subject with a gun.

At 10:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2021, Iowa City Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at GreenState Credit Union, 825 Mormon Trek Blvd. The victim reported using a drive-through lane at the credit union when they were approached by a subject with a gun. The victim was able to put their vehicle into drive and safely escape.

On Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, as part of the investigation into the robbery, Iowa City Police served warrants at 1103 Prairie du Chien Road and 941 Dewey St. in Iowa City. A firearm similar to the one described by the robbery victim was recovered from one of the residences.
As a result of the investigation, Laron Gadlen, Jr., 16, of Iowa City, and Tavarion Herron, 17, of Iowa City were arrested and face the following charges:

Additional arrests are possible and the investigation is ongoing.
For the safety of the public and the officers involved in the arrest, a civilian armored vehicle belonging to the Linn County Sheriff's Office was used to serve one of the warrants. A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
