Classic Iowa City Sunday: Old Capitol Criterium Bike Race, River Run, Circus Sword Swallowing [PHOTOS]

Sunday was a vintage Iowa City spring day.

One of the first days this year that actually felt like spring got people out of the house and to check out the festivities downtown.

For an outsider, it was a perfect sample of what Iowa City is all about, and for locals it's was a great reminder of what makes this place special.

From the RiverRun in the morning to the Old Capitol Criterium all day to the the sororities girls on the ped mall face painting and giving away ice cream as part of the literacy project to a circus featuring a sword swallowing juggler - Sunday showed the generosity, the challenge seeking, the quirkiness and the fun-loving nature of our city.
