You can read more about the donation delivered by theย TanTara Transportation Corporation from Muscatine that usually delivers Iowa's football supplies,ย at this Gazette article. The article also hasย additional coverage from KCRG and the Iowa Hawkeyes official press release about the donation. The press release has quotes from Oklahoma Sooners coach Bob Stoops:
โOn behalf of myself, Carol and everyone at the University of Oklahoma, we really appreciate the generosity of the people of the state of Iowa,โ said OU head coach and former Hawkeye Bob Stoops.ย โItโs really incredible that the people of Iowa brought truckloads of food here to the Food Bank.โI spent 10 years โ five playing and five as a young assistant at Iowa โ and to see the Iowa Hawkeye trucks here is pretty special.โ
UI head coach Kirk Ferentz reached out to Stoops a week ago, filling him in on Rigganโs plan on collecting the goods and delivering them to Oklahoma.
โKirk called me and said โHey, we want to send a couple of trucks down to help the people in Oklahoma,โ said Stoops.ย โ(Mike Riggan) has the Iowa football trucks heading that way.ย Can you have some guys help unload it or will you be there?โย I said, โAbsolutely.โ
