Help Fourth Room Theatre Company Raise Funds to Put on Free Eastern Iowa Shakespeare Productions in May

Fourth Room Theatre in Iowa City is trying to crowdfund a free production of Shakespeare's Cymbeline in May. They're about halfway to their goal with just over to two weeks to go.

What's better than going to a local production of a Shakespeare play put on by a group of talented local actors?

Well, according to Iowa City's Fourth Room Theatre company, it's even better if you can go to that play, in this case Shakespeare's "Cymbeline," for free. And you can help them achieve this goal by assisting with their crowdfunding project. The link goes to an Indiegogo page that provides more info about the fundraising campaign and what gifts you can receive in return for your monetary support.

Here's a description of the project from the Fourth Room Theatre website:

Our upcoming production of Cymbeline runs May 24 – June 1. We’re so excited to bring this magical fairy tale to the area! But, we thought, what if we did one better than just put on one of the most beautifully poetic, complex and fantastical of all of Shakespeare’s works (in a gorgeous outdoor space?) We thought, what if we made it FREE?

We just launched our FREE SHAKESPEARE campaign on the crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo, and we need YOUR HELP to bring this program to Eastern Iowa.

Here's a little more about what Fourth Room Theatre is all about:

Fourth Room Theatre is a new collaboration among veteran theatre artists in the Iowa City Area. Between the six of us, we have worked with all of the professional and most of the volunteer theaters in the area. We all have a strong dual commitment to personal growth as artists and to community building through theater.

Here are other Indiegogo projects in the Iowa City area, although all of the rest have either met their goal or run out of time before their fundraising could be completed.
