Iowa City Police: Assailant Cut Through Woman's Tent with Knife, Threatened to Kill Her and Family Members
The woman was hiding from the man in the tent with her daughter. She had been in an intimate relationship with the man for four years prior to the incident.

A transient is facing a serious felony burglary charge after he used a knife to enter a woman's tent and threatened to kill her and her family members.
According to an Iowa City Police criminal complaint, on May 15 Larry Alan Pyle, 48, address unknown, was irate when he arrived at 2000 S. Gilbert Street to confront a woman that he had been in an intimate relationship with for four years near a tent where she was staying.ย
Police say Pyle shouted at the woman, telling her he was going to kill her and her family members, and pushed her into a pan of noodles she had been cooking.

The woman retreated to a nearby tent and zipped up the entrance. Pyle then allegedly used a knife to cut through the side of the tent and said "You're going to die (expletive)" to the woman, before forcing his way inside. Another subject and the woman's daughter had to work together to restrain Pyle from getting to the woman.
Pyle was arrested by Iowa City Police before noon Friday and charged with domestic abuse assault and first-degree harassment, both aggravated misdemeanors, and first-degree burglary a Class B Felony.ย

He is in the Johnson County Jail on $25,000 bail.
