Iowa City Road Construction This Week: Oakland Avenue, Gilbert Street, Washington Street, Scott Boulevard
Prepare yourself for a brand new bunch of road construction in Iowa City this week.
Yes, it truly is Spring in Iowa City.
No I don't mean because it's finally gotten warm for a few days, or flowers blooming, I'm talking about the road construction.
Weather permitting, which it may not due to rain in the forecast, here are some road projects coming up in Iowa City.

Scott Boulevard (Starts today)
Weather permitting; beginning early Monday, April 29th, S Scott Blvd. will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic, between Wellington Dr. and Wintergreen Dr. This lane reduction is necessary to facilitate pavement repair. It is anticipated the work will be completed by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 1st.

Oakland Avenue (Starts today)
Weather permitting, beginning on Monday, April 29, 2013, Oakland Avenue, from Center Avenue to Grant Street will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic. This lane reduction is necessary to facilitate the repair of a sanitary sewer service line in the area. It anticipated that normal traffic will resume by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 1st.
S. Gilbert Street Lane Reduction (Starts Wednesday)
Weather permitting, beginning on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, southbound traffic on S. Gilbert Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic from Court Street to Prentiss Street. This lane reduction is necessary to facilitate building construction activities in the area. It anticipated that normal traffic will resume by the end of the day on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
Washington Street traffic shifted between South Dodge and South Governor (Starts Wednesday)
Eastbound traffic on Washington Street, from South Dodge Street to South Governor Street will be shifted slightly to accommodate water main maintenance in the area Wednesday, weather permitting.
