Officials: City Park Being Readied For Flooding, Events Cancelled
The last time there was flash flooding in Iowa City City Park became something of a lake. They are taking precautions in case this happens once again.

The threat of flooding at Lower City Park, 200 E. Park Road, is resulting in some precautionary cancellations and changes, as follows:
AMUSEMENT RIDES
Amusement rides at City Park will be closed today (Tuesday, May 28) and will reopen when the risk of flooding has passed.
SHELTER RESERVATIONS
Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department staff are currently contacting individuals with park shelter reservations at City Park scheduled from now throughย Sunday, June 16. Park staff will work with you to move your reservation to a different park location, or provide a refund on payments that have been made. If you have not been contacted about your reservation, please call the Parks and Recreation office at319/356-5100.ย
TEE-BALL AND BASEBALL
โข All Iowa City Boys Baseball games at City Park have been cancelled until further notice. Staff is attempting to locate alternate fields throughout the City where games may be played.
โข Tee ball games that are played near the outdoor festival stage may be relocated.
