Police: Drunken Vandal Facing Felony After Kicking Windshields in on at Least Six Vehicles

An Iowa City man is facing a felony criminal mischief charge after he allegedly was witnessed kicking in on windshields on several vehicles near S. Gilbert Street.
According to the Iowa City Police, on Friday night a little before midnight, witnesses described Ryan Thomas Kluver, 21, of Iowa City as jumping on the hoods of at least four vehicles near S. Gilbert Street and kicking in the windshields. Kluver was also witnessed kicking in the windshields on two additional vehicles on Prentiss Street.
Police say photos of the vehicles were taken and the damage to the hoods, including footprint imprints, matched Kluver's footwear. Kluver was later seen lying down near the 300 block of Prentiss Street, and swayed when he stood, according to the complaint. His blood-alcohol content was measured at .205 pre arrest.
Kluver was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D Felony, for causing between $1,000 and $10,000 in damage. He was also charged with public intoxication.
