Iowa City Police Arrest Man After Drive-by Gun Threat
Torian Topaz Cleggette, 21, was found hiding in an attic and taken into custody by force after police attempted to get him to come out voluntarily for three hours with no success.

Iowa City police officers have arrested a local man after he allegedly threatened a Davis Street resident by displaying a handgun out of a moving vehicle.
At 2:35 a.m. this morning police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle that had driven by the Davis Street residence with the male occupant of the vehicle allegedly showing a handgun out the window and making a threat to the caller, according to a police press release.
Officers were able to get a description of the vehicle and located it driving in the area a short time later and they attempted to make contact with the driver. Instead of speaking with the officers, the man allegedly stopped his vehicle and fled on foot with the officers in pursuit, according to the release. The officers determined that the man had entered a residence at 2017 Taylor Drive.
Officers set up a perimeter around the house and the ICPD Special Response Team (SRT) and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) responded to the scene about 7:30 a.m. Although a 24-year-old woman exited the house upon request about 9:30 a.m., attempts to make contact with the suspect were unsuccessful.Â
Roughly three hours later, the SRT team made their entry into the residence and located the man they were looking for, Torian Topaz Cleggette, 21, hiding in the attic, according to the release.Â
